Hello everyone!

I got idea about how to make drones more interesting maybe even useful.

As each drone has own boost they still can be upgraded without being overpowered considering amount of energy they consume.

- Refiner Drone to be able to collect Cryonite on blaster range.

- Armor Drone to create invisible shield which activates and is visible only one side where ship getting shot.

- Damage Drone shots same enemy and deal % damage of installed blaster with same attack speed

- Speed Drone makes jet trail color a bit lighter or add one more jet trail

So on for every other drone.

Sounds good but this will sadly never happen.. Thats to overpowered

Drone is a drone.
You idea is more for pet system ^^

Will not happen when SSG even not considers an auto collection for Cryonite but remain on collecting BP or Mission relevant items

- Armor Drone to create invisible shield which activates and is visible only one side where ship getting shot.
In PvE eventually usefull but then depends on where the shield will be placed cus if it´s in front you can basicly be "perma guarded" by it while in PvP you simply can fly around and with at least 2 Pilots you will always have 1 unprotected side

- Damage Drone shots same enemy and deal % damage of installed blaster with same attack speed
Would basicly create an "double effect" and in return be an "always used drone" In combo like with the Spaceball 2k20 Drone even more powerfull so that it would drift into the "P2W area" if you wanna have the fully leveled version considering it can only be purchased at full power during the event (if you don´t wanna deal with the Missions to upgrade it) or during certain special sales (Summer Sale for example)

- Speed Drone makes jet trail color a bit lighter or add one more jet trail
Maybe a nice visual effect but then at the same useless as well.

I made in an post from last year some sort of "1st April 2020 Update" joke log where i already had some sort of idea for the drones... for some reason i have the feeling that eventually another "Suggestion Post" will come around this weekend from my side for the Drones cus i rarely not try to go into further details for my "crazy ideas" ;).

Since the change of the Memberships and the e-consumption of drones they have received at least some sort of QoL update but eventually another tweak here and there might be a good thing.

Thank you for taking time to read and answer on my post,
I can see here is little misunderstanding.


For example,
Armor Drone to have effect all time while being installed in ship but not visible until ship receive damage. same 5% armor boost just added visual effect.

Damage drone all time effect lets say 5% and from drone another hitting 5% or something similar without boosting drones more but making them more interesting because they don't get enough attention, neither visual effects.

Bonus would be making all 3 drones visible at once flying around ship with all their side effect

Game is great but they don't invest much time and effort into visualization. So ti's all more graphic effects than real boost

On some systems,like tc,already we have many lags,no need next effect to make deeper lags when 10 ppl fly around and all give you extra lags.

But yea more effects will be nice but only when you have option on/off them.
Many times i say it be nice options for on/off ashes,flames,fog,dust on game.

So if be more option to personal what you wana see,sure we need more effects when we want to ^^

Yes, sure on/off option. There should be more switches in game.

I think the main issue here for lags is that pg is a constant online game, so it is hostet from their server. Thats why there is not more ingame details. Back to the beta the graphics was awesome. Kalabesh and Lyris looked awesome. Better than now...

I have an gaming gpu but sometimes there is mostly lags on Calon/Earth.20/Sirius with many Pilots.. Venar works fine.

To fix such problem it would be good that ssg release the game launcher full offline but for playing online. That would fix and allow more details to the game.. But i think that wont happen ever .. Because every dev wants to protect their games😶

Lyris looked awesome
Lyris however had one major change way back. Lyris was the only planet that actually had rain and even when it did look awsome SSG had to remove the rain due every Pilot had insane problems on this planet to not have any lag at all :p

Well, they must do something, as I offered game to some friends, they was just like "graphic looks outdated"
In my case I don't mind really but would be nice if it's a bit better, from other hand, if they want new players they must do something.

Yep, the graphics are definitely outdated.
This need to be updated.
This game still uses D3D9. Would be nice to at least see D11 here.

Increasing java heap size will result in smoother gameplay too. (can't be change by user cuz it's hard coded In the game)

Lot of things to do. But let's not hope 😁 those changes we will never see.

There was an game that it shutdown called nfs:world. It worked really good with the immenese map and fast gameplay.. There was only minor lags(map loaded due higher speeds) but it worked fine because it was not all constant live gameplay like ssg did with their games

D3D11 would do a better job in terms of Graphics and fps and increasing that java actually uses more ram would also increase the performance for dram and vram

Yep new graphims and new animations per example for OS ...
I would say start by the rockets 1st cus they are so far the "oldes" weapon in the game that still have a boring look when fired and when they hit :p

Yeah.. It was a good game.. But lets not talk about that. ssg can do it better to improve pirate galaxy in terms of graphic and performance. The first step should definitely a full release to steam to gather more players
