Im going to take a wild guess and say that the mantis will probably be no more after draconis. They are probably being controlled by some far greater threat to humanity and after the draconis story we will be left cleaning up the remaining mantis until making our way to the siris system to find some other form of enemy that was originally controlling the mantis.

If that doesn't happen, and the mantis just get outright defeated and they were the only enemy, then cant we just be the bad guys and go raid some other random system and enslave them in our own mines there so we can afford to build a time machine to go back to before the mantis invasion begun, and destroy the first mantis scouts so they think twice and never actually invade us in the first place?
Then of course we would also need to slave them some more in the mines so we can afford a device to erase peoples minds so that no one knows the whole slaving thing happened lol
