What are rares actually based on?

I happen to know it isn't random or luck as there is no such thing on a computer program.

ALICE for example is a computer with a large database and comprehensive algorithms - not random or thoughts.

1.Also how can someone get 5 rares in an hour-ish compared to people who hunt for weeks for 1?

2.And how you can get through 9 hours of elite BP booster (3x3) and get nothing short or more cry drops than usual?
(neither example me - 1st I wish though)

Fragments of code, a pucker explanation and/or psuedocode would be nice. (criteria)

as I would like to see some rares sometime soon.
(any response that follow thus criteria would be greaty appreciated)

^^ I couldn't help but notice that in the initial post, you mentioned that a program couldn't code in a drop rate based on a percentage (aka luck).

^_^ I can make you a program that plays dice if you want, lol.
Dice = game of chance, Percentages and Luck.
:< Unfortunately, the coding I know isn't java. That much I can say for certain.
However, being that java is more complex, I do imagine that it's equally capable.

Wolfie's Theories
I once heard that when a rare mantis is spawned during an invasion, the drop was decided on in advance.
This led me to believe, for a time, that perhaps a single enemy on the planet held the rare, and that destroying this enemy would cause another random enemy to spawn in with a rare somewhere on the map.
I have no way of proving, or disproving the theory, seeing as every time one person gets a rare on a planet, I hear the word echoed like a chain reaction.
"RARE!!! YESSSSSSSSS!"
"Lucky, I haven't even seen a- OMG GOLD!!! OMGGGG!!"
"Son of a gun! Where the heck are you g- GOLD!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! XDDDD"
And then, I got the gemini materializer

The above supports my theory... but not with anything that I consider solid enough that I would put my faith behind it or give it my stamp of approval in some manner. x) If it's luck, it's luck, and luck provides for such occurrences now doesn't it? ^^

That being said, do note that there is sometimes a small amount of lag after you destroy an enemy, before the blueprint, etc appears. This may be caused by the running of a random number generator style program, or some other similar application related to the drop of Blue BP's, Cryonite, and rares.

Yes and it's weird that I was hunting a blue agrrobreakon on earth took me 4 days to find it and in that time I found sol taunt 3 times, sol aggrobomb once and sol thermoblast 2 times all before I found a BLUE bp.

It's happent to me 2 times ever I'm there killing harvs destroy the 10 million inters on my tail and in the dust there's OMG 2 rares. Some people have screenys to prove it umfortunly I failed to get one of mine.

but not sure if it is true... i tried killing all the commanders on vega 4 but non of them dropped a rare and i was the only one on the planet.
but since they got to orbit and land not sure if i got them all.... im going to organize my clan and all go to vega and kill them all at the same time and see what happens.

the only error with this is that there is not a REAL COMPLETE BP guide.... from what i see online stun charge only drops from c-commanders but some one in my guild said he got one from a setinal.

*and yes im sure i was the only person on vega 4 at the time... my server is pretty much dead... every one finds farming e all the time too boring.*

Stun charge only drops from custodian commanders, it doesn't drop from sentinel or marauder commander..

Two golds at the same time?
Sure. There's a glitch where one enemy drops 2 bps. If this happens to be a gold drop, it's more than feasable that they could get two golds.

In either case, this is probably the sort of thing that we should be asking the Delloda! ^^ lol

mantis can double drop golds, its happened to me many times... happened 3 times on Earth.. 2 from Pyro, SSBs and Thermo, 2 from a Sniper, Sol Perf and Sol Rep and 2 from a rocket turret, 2 Aim Comps

and your theory whoever it was.. about the rare drop then the mantis will spawn with a rqre again in another location, it spawns in same location if your only one on planet killing.. I had this incidence at 5am in the morning at Lustra when they released the rare ships, I was at the exact middle of map killing commanders, I killed 1.. it dropped double rare and it was that green colour.. rares were Ship and Stun charge.. I waited for another commander to land.. for rare ship for friend, another green one landed.. and dropped only one rare this time but it was ship.. I didnt have any boosters at all.. and neither did my friend.

i have had this happen to me too... and that is why i think his theory might be right... if the mob is the only mob to die on the planet then it is the only mob that the rare can go to.

he said he got it from a sentinel on lyris... not a sentinel commander.
but i guess we will assume that he is mistaken...

i have had 2 bp drops like in the same second but i don't know if it was from the same mantis.
i was shooting harvs on mars with my friend and after a big bang 2 golds popped up.
but you might be right about at the same place thing. i once helped 3 players at the same time getting bps and xp and stuff and i was blasting harvs at terasa and got couple rare abs in 15 minutes. also back in antares i was killing frenzoids and got a rare and the wave after that again.
