Venus and Mercury are crossing paths today, Mercury is heading away from the Sun, Venus toward it.

the transit of venus is just that.

Venus passes between the earth and the sun leaving a shadow on the surface of the sun. This happens in a cycle of 8 years then 104 Years then 8 Years etc this was the last time you would have seen it unless immortality is discovered
