Hey all,

Squads are looking good for Askone and Solaria.

We still need two more squads for Kalgan, but we might be able to work around this with the squads already participating. We also need at least 3-4 more squads for Aeria. If we don’t hit these numbers, we may need to cancel the Aeria and Kalgan PvP tournament. We do apologise for this.

If you can, please encourage more people to join so we can keep these events running.

We extend registration until Thursday 24th at 6PM (UTC+2), after this no more registrations will be possible.

Hello clockwire, next events I would highly encourage the pirate galaxy team to be more prepared with information regarding the start time and dates, it doesn't make sense to ask people to commit for an event when they don't know the date or time it is happening, this seems like a massive over look by the pirate galaxy team. Hi Jaax,

You’re right – the dates were posted, but not the times, and that was an oversight on our part. We apologise for that.

Next time, we’ll make sure the dates and times are sorted beforehand so everyone has proper time to organise things.

We only had three weeks to prepare for this event, and all I can say is sorry – next time we’ll get it right.

Anyway, let’s not dwell on this now and let others register for the event if they have time. If you wish to message or reply back, you’re welcome to DM me anytime.

Hello clockwire, next events I would highly encourage the pirate galaxy team to be more prepared with information regarding the start time and dates, it doesn't make sense to ask people to commit for an event when they don't know the date or time it is happening, this seems like a massive over look by the pirate galaxy team. Let me explain as I had prepared the schedules chiefly in conjunction with other English team members.

First off the dates were published beforehand.
About start timings, We cannot preemptively discern whether a server will come up with 2 teams or 10 teams for the tournament. This means we cannot know what will be the length of a tournament for a server. For example, the last Askone tournament took 5 hours with 9 teams!

Since we planned to conduct tournaments for 5 server's in 2 days and we needed to prepare a schedule in such a way that 2 tournaments may not conflict, we required the info of total teams that register's on each server. I agree that this could be better organized, we will improve on it for next time.

The timings were released once it was clear that the numbers were lower than expected.

If im not wrong it was said 26th or 27th so my point is valid, one day difference is someone having to work vs not having to work it's still an uncertaintey and regarding the time just prepare for the max, do 1 server a day simple other wise like I said people cannot prepare for it, if u saw the second you announced the exact times and dates many people entered

Next time we will see if we can come up with a poll to see what time suits all. As I mentioned above, the logistics of handling 5 tournaments in 2 days prevents us from giving exact dates. Not much we could have done without insight.

Either-way, such a cluster of tournaments have not been done before (with a 2 day time frame!) so we all are learning as we go. We will figure out a better way to handle it for the next occasion

I am all for supporting the fun things left in pirate galaxy - PvP content, cqs, colo etc. If there are more tournaments I would recommend a joining prize, something small like signing up gives you 200k cryo and a few gravs etc. Also top prizes for the tournament would be much more inticing if it was unique rewards, to tell you the harsh truth most people on askone do not need 5 million cryo or gold because there is nothing to use it on, but a special reward such as a custom tail colour on your ship or another cosmetic change like ship alloy colour being purple etc would be very cool. Also could be cool to have commentary on the live stream from some notable community members, like soris, raven etc

Also - if you want the most competitive fair tournament disable cortexs' on vega arena, pretty sure thats why a bunch of people didnt enlist for tournament

Will you be disabling people's speed boosters? If I remember correctly, they are active in pirate mode until you take some sort of pvp-related action

It is automatically disabled on the arena. We've tested it

Also - if you want the most competitive fair tournament disable cortexs' on vega arena, pretty sure thats why a bunch of people didnt enlist for tournament

I think everyone knows the power of the asura cortex, anyone without is at a big disadvantage

Is the asura cortex going to be allowed? Would be odd to allow a tau ceti/oort cortex in a Sirius tournament

The rules under the tournament post does not state anything against the use of cortex so this should be clear.

We prefer to not add such a rule so close to the start of the tournament's. The feedback is noted and the decision will be reviewed for the next occasion.
