The little radar next to your ships health bar

I think it needs to have a bigger range, and more detail. if it showed the types of mantis, and the type of things that can be picked up, without having to hover your cursor over it. If it had a better range at the very least, it would be better. and maybe if it showed the ground detail as well, so you can see if the mantis is on the other side of a wall or something. Just a thought XD .
