The Pirate Galaxy Leagues PvP Tournament 2010
“Squad Battles”
The PvP Tournament is a squad based, bracket style competition. The tournament follows a similar mechanism to the current Football World Championships.
The amount of groups will be dictated by the number of squads that register for the tournament. Each group will consist of two (2) squads where they will engage each other in combat once, resulting in the winning squad progressing to the next level. The following stages will progress in the usual bracket competition form.
The Pirate Galaxy Leagues
Each League will be limited to the System Technology that it is in: Vega, Antares, Gemini, Mizar and Sol. Although squads may participate in multiple leagues, they must only use the Ships and Technologies that is the sponsor for each league.
The Pirate Galaxy Sol League
All squads participating in the Sol League must only use the Ships and Technologies that is available to any Sol Ship (Parsecs are Not Allowed). A Squad may have up to 5 Pilots in it. Once a squad has been registered, it members cannot be changed or replaced.
The prize for each member of the winning squad who participated is a special edition version of the top damage dealer ship from the sponsor of their respective leagues.
Winning Squad: Ultimate Energy Charge + STAM-TR Lightning Storm SE (Special Edition)
1st Runner Up Squad: Ultimate Energy Charge
2nd Runner Up Squad: Elite Energy Charge
Tournament Rules:
Every Squad must register by replying to this post on the forums in the following format:
• All participating squads must be in Vega3 orbit at least Fifteen (15) minutes before each battle. Each squad must fly down to the surface only when instructed even if the squad is incomplete. Squad members arriving late will be excluded from the battle. If the members of a squad decide to forfeit the battle or if a squad fails to attend, the squad is disqualified.
• Each battle will last for a maximum of thirty minutes with three lives given to each player.
• All unregistered players who fly down to the surface will be killed or kicked from the server instantly upon detection by the LGM who is controlling the Battle.
• Any player that uses exceedingly foul, rude or sexually explicit language during battle can have their squad disqualified, with the offending player subject to server rules and possible banning from entering further tournaments.
• The tournament will be held on Sunday's on Vega 3 at 1 PM EST (GMT -5 / 8 PM GMT +2) with the timetable established once registrations have closed. All results will be published in the forums on or by the following Monday. Last registration will be on Sunday at 00:00 EST (GMT -5).
• Squad member cannot be changed after registration is completed.
An LGM or higher will always be present in the Battle Planet orbit as the Battle Judge.
