So you don't have to say that, but here is a very good suggestion that makes shocks more fair.

Some of the shock weapons should generate energy to reduce the cost of the speed actuators more enery usage.

The Speed Actuator is one of the most mean weapons SS could have added. It's so essensial and has a pretty clear effect. But this effect is bigger, the effect also increases your Energy/Second. Thats what I find unfair. The Speed Actuator can eat your energy very quickly. Other buffs don't eat energy, Aim Computer is the cheapest buff ingame if Energy/Second counts.

Now, there is nothing wrong with the speed actuator, but maybe the shock has to be more offensive in the end game. I suggest renaming the Speed Actuator to a Battery. The Battery makes your weapons faster and gives damage to your Stun Dome.

The damage would increase to how lower the level of the enemy ship is versus your stundomes level as it would destroy the technology inside of it.

A Rank 65 Stun Dome wouldn't do anything on rank 67, but would do a little on enemies from Gazica, more damage to Earth Enemies and even more to enemies from the Moon.

This would finally make it a more PVE ship.

Actually, shock ship are perfectly balanced as the others ships, even in PVE, You can go solo on mantis hive if you managed your items the right way.

I've played in shock ship for a while now, and I've no problems soloing the hive to get BP/cry,
You just have to make good uses of your Speedbuff/Repair droid.

So no need to modify something about this ships now, just learn how to use it in PVE and you will see it can be as usefull as a storm/sniper/tank.

Yeah, it's great on hive and hard mantis, but I am trying to get it to be better at grinding low ranks.

The higher energy/second usage is just an indirect side effect of using the speed actuator, it's not like the actuator itself is using the energy it's just that YOU are using the sub systems to which it affects at a faster rate. I don't see it as unfair in even the slightest way. And what's more you can ALSO use the speed actuator to speed up the rate at which you collect energy which counters the increased energy/second usage.

Although, maybe you could make the aggrobeacon come with a sort of aggrobomb, when mantis shoots the aggrobeacon it triggers the aggrobomb effect of the aggrobeacon which could cause area damage equivalent to that of a third rate rocket from the same systemI think that would be a good thing to add to i and would help with your issue to.


Edit: I also don't think stun domes should deal any damage at all. Though I DO think a special stun ship blaster could be made which would have the same effect and damage as a normal blast but have a small, continueuos stunning effect on the target.

ctmurphy, your aggrobeacon blast idea is awesome, it would fix the AoE Damage perfectly.

The aggrobeacon has a lot of health and if it would be destroyed it should actually give an aggrobomb shockwave. In PvP it wouldn't matter a lot (except for sniper, since attack droid gets distracted and maybe trigger an explosion...)

This would make the aggrobeacon a really good weapon instead of a defensive beacon.

Stun dome damage....only to mines...any interference to their delecate electronics should cause them to self-destruct :D And the beacon/bomb would be a great mine-clearance tool :D

Further to that it would be nice if the current beacon had some effect on mines...which it doesn't :cry:

Ofc it got no use, would make defender useless at pvp if you would not stop shooting the mines to kill it, or it will not explode m8 ;)

Yeah but then the only problem with that idea is that you have to get close enough to the mines to drop the beacon without them all exploding on you first :) mines are fun to play with anyways =)

talking about mines, hmm, Shock ships are effective Mine sweepers to thnk of it ^^
