Ive googled and googled, ive looked everywhere that i can think, but i have been unable to find a full list of controls for the game.

Im hoping people can tell me if there's any controls i don't know, especially a "target objects" as the tab key wont target energy, cry or bps, and i want to play with my Gamepad. Its the only key im missing.

Since i haven't found a "target object" button, I currently have to move the mouse cursor with one of the analog sticks to select any object, Adds a new level of complexity to energy farming i assure you

In case any other new player is looking for what keys do what in game, heres a list that i have managed to obtain.

W = fly forward
S = Stop (This is a great tool when you see a DS lol)
A = pan screen right, When you release the A key, if your holding W the ship will turn to screen centre
D = pan screen left, When you release, as above

1 = Fire "item" 1 (Primary weapon)
2 = Fire "item" 2 (Collector)
3 = Fire "item" 3 (Primary Weapon)
4 = Fire "item" 4 (Repair)
5 = Fire "item" 5 (Afterburner)
6 = Fire "item" 6 (Special Ability)
7 = Fire "item" 7 (Special Ability)
8 = Fire "item" 8 (Special Weapon)

Tab = Select

I think this selects "closest" target, i haven't had enough experience to be certain. But i do know it selects players (Friend and foe alike) as well as NPC targets, And doesn't select "objects" (like cry, bps and energy)

SpaceBar = Open area specific window (top right of screen, planet map, orbit squads and missions, starmap "planets")

I have noticed when my young daughter sits on my lap and bashes the keyboard, other things apear to happen, but i have been unable to isolate which keys she hits.

If there is a comprehensive list that someone knows about, please provide a link, because i cant find it.

I did find the "key overview" under "?" in game, but it only gives a few key's, it did not contain Tab at the very least (Servers being "maintained" so i cant double check) im hoping there's some more keys missing. Any input is appreciated. I found out about the tab key via a loading screen.

Other Keys

Return Key = Activate Chat

Arrow up/down = change chat target between open chat rooms (Whispers + rooms)

I don't know if there's a "quick" way to whisper a player, at current i do what im sure is the wrong way.

I select "buddies" => "Find" => "Open Chat"

You seem to have all what is available in the game of the controls, I see only one key missing;

This is used to scan the object, and you can do it with the right side mouse, and you can have a distance to many dangers, and check what bp or other is in question, w/o going in middle of the mantis to scan it.

I think most of us play this game by keyboard, and I am not aware of that it has been adaptable to play with a Gamepad.
I am not 100% sure, so maybe someone who has knowledge of such, could give you more info here.

Ohh yes, didn't remember the e key for a moment, and i certainly didn't know the extent of its features, i may have to have another go with it.

And just for information purposes, any PC game that can be played with keyboard/mouse with less than 30 key's or mouse control with less than 28 keys, can be played with a game pad.

This game is probably the best game pad space game ive played in many years.

Given a high amount of skill, and turning game pad "centering" or "Spring" as its often known, on, A skilled person can use the game pad with higher precision and speed than a mouse, I however lack the skill i have seen others use, so i need the select target key lol.

Well you could teach me there spikefin, that is if I had a Gamepad, but I haven't played any game with such, so it is quite a strange object to me.

Playing with mouse is easyer then keyboard or gamepad

Mouse sure is faster for alot of people, but also less ergonomic, spending to many hours on a pc using mouse and keyboard can be strenuous for some, Thats why i prefer the game pad, It can move the mouse just as fast as you can. I said can, not all people can use it that easily. I personally dont use a PS or XBox or anything like that with there game pads, But seeing some of the guys i know playing it, wow, probably could out maneuver me 5x over lol.

On a related note, in-case anyone else plays games with game pad, heres some info that might save you some time.

The "Select" Button is buggy, especially with harvester spawn, Its also select and goto. so when you get the wrong target....

I tried the other listed keys, still couldn't find one to pick up objects

When making an analog stick "WASD" ensure its 8 point control, if you tell the game pad to use 4 point, the ship wont go anywhere lol

Does anyone else use a game pad to play these games? Or joystick for that matter, any alternative device other than a keyboard and mouse? lol

If the game had "thrust" control, id be using my joystick, it has "turbo" mode so i wouldn't have to "mash" the buttons to fire the weapon lol

well u might install the 1-8, f1-11/f12,[space], [ctrl] on a joystick, ofc not sure how to do it 0.o
