Rare mantis

Today first time i saw message of rare mantis appearing on a planet. Problem is - where to look for these rarities when they appear? some planets are big

Also do they drop something rare too?

And finally speaking of drops - general question - if on the same place we are 3 players, but we are not a squadron so everybody playing independently and i kill a mantis, it drops something. Would the other players see my loot ? could they get it if we're not a squadron? never paid attention to this

Rare mantis can spawn on any normal planet, any time and anywhere on there. They are totally random..
And they drop rare color patterns linked to them. Each planet also haves its own rare mantis.

And for second question, without squad, only persons who have shot target can see possible drops. When in squad all persons see all drops, unless dropped item is "personal" (log file or graviton) or dropped by someone's bp booster.
