Loving that PTR is open with the proposed changes AND that a dev showed up to talk with us and give us some insight.
Armor: Well done. It feels as if I can negotiate the surface in my sniper without continuous podding. Yes, there’s the heady rush of danger – but not the despair I currently feel when discovering the target area is clear across the planet and knowing that I will without a doubt be visiting the inside of my pod numerous times sobbing and whimpering for an engineer to come and save me.
Enemies: All enemies on the planet are a single level – which as it was explained - will rank higher and become more difficult as you negotiate the outer rings. The exertion of finishing them off varies with the weapons of the various ships. They feel well balanced though, with the current tech on my ship.
Mobs: Well.. mobs are mobs. I always seem to ab out of trouble and find myself right smack in the middle of them. However, I did manage to get away a few times and repair, it could be just a feeling… but there appear to be a few more relatively safe spots on PTR than on the live server. Yippee!
Bosses: Pleasant surprise! Though we did find ourselves in a spot where three different bosses traversed, if you can clear out the smaller ships while you wait for them to return, killing the bosses with a small squad of skilled pilots is consistently possible.
Missions: We were able to finish all the missions on our planet. No bugs! Whooo hooo! In fact, as there was no one on late last night - with a bit of planning and thought - I was able to solo the final mission on the first try. The quarks were unlocked and I sent them back to the ship.
Blueprints. Prices are fair. But I don’t see an appreciable difference in strength between mates shooting best Drac blues, Drac rares, and Sirius blue prints.
OS: TOTALLY loving the OS color is red for enemies and no longer having to claim the os or telling mates to MOVE!
Now for the problems as I see it.
It was explained that level 70 ships with Sirius bps will no longer be considered able to fly in Draconis missions. Whoa guys! We were told that we COULD fly in Draconis with Sirius blue prints on our ships. So, we sold our Draconis rares and put on Sirius bps, because supposedly they are better tech. I really don’t see a difference. I want my cry back. All of it - not half - so I can put back my ship with rares to fly my ship in missions where I was told I could fly to begin with.
We took a loss on the rares AND STILL had to pay to get these bps. Grrrr! Were I told that I wouldn’t be able to use my ship on Draconis, I would have made different decisions and saved A TON of cry. I spent cry on something I can’t use now.
Blueprints: It’s absurd that we have to get so many blue prints. The number of kills for everyone to complete a blue print is unreasonable and BORING. Can we have some relief from this please?
Overall? Good changes in store. Thanks devs. Really. Honestly. Good job.
