Psycodelic colors

So why is it that all the ships are left over from the 70's tie-dye era for me? I played on a friend's comp and the colors were move... militaristic. or should i said understandable. Any help?

sounds like a Graphic card or display issue

 

[Highway]

set the visual quality in the game options to "lowest" that resolves that issue.
