Maybe a system editor would be like this:
Star system view:
- You can change the look of your sun
- You can add planets, add different looks, specify if they have a hangar, change their orbit, add setting such as speed in orbit... and if it is cq planet or normal
Planet editor:
A birds-eye view of the planet you are editing. You start out with a flat grid surface, and by the use of some tools...
- Terrain tool. Create different things with the up and down settings, set the radius of the ´´brush´´ aswell as the effect. Or you can choose from a set of premade cliffs and ridges.
- Water tool. Add water, change the waterline height and create different types of water ( NOrmal water, wavey water, Lava...)
- Pattern tool. Select from a huge amount of different textures, rock, stone, sand, metal, and even upload your own!
- Area marking. Choose where you can go and where you can't
- Mantis fields: Choose which mantis unit and which rank, and where they patrol. Maybe, you should even be able to change their AI scripts (the rank 52 Pyros in the 2nd field always flee to the repair node, when other pyros do not). You can do like this with e too, or add DS patrols.
- Buildings. A list of all buildings in the game. You can move, rotate, rise and lower these objects. You can upload your own stuff made in a 3D draw program too.
Ship/Mantis Editor:
- You can use a set of parts from these styles:
- Mantis
- Imperial
- Sol Technologies
- Mizar Stellar Technologies
- Gemini Components
- Colonial
- Rusty
- Fighter Plane
You can also make your own parts and ships using a 3D drawer.
