Ive been thinking of a few NEW ideas 4 pg instead of making old ones better/worse
One that I have come up with is a stats system.
It would go like this, much like any other stats system.
So you would get stat points you can spend when you level up maybe 1-2, or perhaps it may vary eg.lvl 1 you get 1 skill point, and maybe every 10 levels you get one extra skill point so by draconis you would get 7 skill points, but the stat upgrades would cost more.
Heres the main part:
you would have several stats you could upgrade on the stats tree, things such as Weaponary(raw damage of all offensive weapons) Hull Resistance(your ships HP) Engines(Your speed) Regeneration (this could perhaps be a passive ability that makes you repair just slightly so many HP per second) Tactical Computer (this would be your hitrate) or maybe slightly less direct ones like Luck (increses droprate of bps) Salvage system (increses droprate of cryonite) or Emergency energy core (increses your resistance to stun related weaponary) perhaps nullify that one in pvp though as it is unfair on shock ships, and so on.....
so after you level up you can spend your skill points on these, it would make leveling up more rewarding and also give players more of a personal style.
ok so for example I want to level up my weapons because my pulsar blaster is like shooting balls of cotton at mantis on hive, I would spend my skill points/point on it, and I would instantly have 5-8% more damage per offensive ability I use.
heres my proposed cost, perhaps they will cap out at skill level 15 or 20.
lvl 1 skill: 1 point
lvl 2 skill: 1 point
lvl 3 skill: 1 point
lvl 4 skill: 2 point
lvl 5 skill: 2 point
lvl 6 skill: 2 point
lvl 7 skill: 3 point
So basically it costs one more point per three levels or somethin, idk about what system splitsceen want to use if they ever put this in game, but this should be purly levels DO NOT MAKE THIS AVALIABLE FOR GOLD, it will make the game unfair.
Also you will of course have to give existing players the points from lvl 1, but I will leave that 2 ss

also it would be a good idea to make some sort of reset/Respec option incase you really stuff up, but make it avaliable for cryonite not gold, or at least make it avaliable for both, as on several other MMO's ive played (i wont include names) ive really stuffed up and had to make a new account just because of that perhaps it goes up 500cryo per level so by lvl 75 it would be 37.5k, so it wont be to cheap but also it is do-able.
