Opinion on new update and loot system

the update is the following:


- The main chat (system wide) will now also include the position of the players as it already works with the quick chat
- The chat messages now does not vanish once the zone is changed, meaning the chat messages stay
- An ignore list will be added into the game. With the help of this list you will be given the possibility to not get private messages from someone or filter their messages in the chat
- The starbase tutorial will be removed from the game
- The movement of every ship although if no movement destination is given will be removed. This means the ship will hover in a place until further orders are given
- Server choice option after the login will be removed and made easier you also will choose your pilot not your server, if you have more than one pilot
- News about the game will not be shown after loging into the game but will be in an extra tab in the side menu
- The repairdroid will integrated into the starter ship
- Energy-capacity will be increased
- The loading screen will show additional hints and promotions
- The new loot system concerning blueprint and cryonite

New Loot system is the following:

1. Mantis can drop cryonite and a blueprint at the same time. The drop-chance of blueprints and cryonite will be increased drastically. But, to keep the balance of the game, we will also have to reduce the value of that single drop.

2. One single blueprint will not enable you to build a weapon based on that blueprint right away. You will have to find more of these blueprints depending on the item. Don't worry, with the new loot and drop system you will get quite a lot of them but it will still take some time until you will be able to build the new item. You will always be noticed how many blueprints you have to find until you can build the item.

What we are going to achieve here is to reduce the random factor and increase the fun of finding blueprints. Missions which require you to find a specific blueprint will be much easier with the new system and boosters will work much better since the drop chance while a booster is running can be utilized much better.

Almost every mantis will drop something with the new loot system!

ok here are my opinions on each thing

- now I'm not sure I understnad this. Main chat system wide and quick chat.. what's the difference? Now if we are able to have a seperate planet and system chat with the system chat giving us an option to close it that would be nice. if not I'm not sure cause I been against the public chat being made into a system chat. Though I do see some benefit with it like GMs being able to see all chat from anywhere making it a little easier for them... but I dont like it where sometimes if enough people are on there will be a massive ammount of chat forcing me to open the large chat box so I can see what others are saying on private, clan, and sq chat. this is something I will need to see on the ptr server.

2. The chat messages now does not vanish once the zone is changed, meaning the chat messages stay

- Woot I'm all for this one :) Great idea since we are all tired of missing what people say

3. An ignore list will be added into the game. With the help of this list you will be given the possibility to not get private messages from someone or filter their messages in the chat

- I'm wondering if my suggestion and voting poll had something to do with this being put in lol. Let me smash my thumbs with a hammer so the swell and I can give y'all a 2 BIG thumbs up for this one.

4. The starbase tutorial will be removed from the game

- not sure about this one. I think it might not be a good idea if the noobs aint being shown how to do the basics like in the tutorial.

5. The movement of every ship although if no movement destination is given will be removed. This means the ship will hover in a place until further orders are given

- well if it's what it sounds like it is where our ship will stay in one spot without moving untill we click or use our keys to move then that's great. means no more staying on e balls and having people steal em... though it is fun to steal a persons e ball you dont like and watch them drift away to pod lol

6. Server choice option after the login will be removed and made easier you also will choose your pilot not your server, if you have more than one pilot

- ok this one I have to see period on the ptr server cause all my characters are the same name on each server. I aint got nothin to hide lol. Good to have people from each server know who they dealing with :p lol

- Dont really care. I dont read the stuff much anyway lol

- what does that mean? auto rep or somethin?

9. Energy-capacity will be increased

- awsome! though means I gotta take more time collecting e lol. hmm does this mean the self res will also be increased?

10. The loading screen will show additional hints and promotions

- I hope it dont take longer to load making me read all that stuff. Sounds like y'all got the idea for hints from a certain mmorpg I played before from a certain ss partner lol

11. The new loot system concerning blueprint and cryonite

- Ok now onto the BIG THING. First this sounds horrible. less c per drop and more items to collect... tbh I need to test it on the ptr server cause I need to see how it works out. if I make less cry per tank of e then I will have to be totaly against this. as for the bp drops I have no problem with how it is right now.

How will this effect Golds? Will they also be in parts?

- I don't get it eather.

4. The starbase tutorial will be removed from the game

- I hope you gonna remake it and make it a better tutorial.

- Please also add it to starmap when we are in starmap flying to a planet or something lol.

- I Think that every ship bought new will have now a Sub-Standard Blaster, Collector and Repair Droid. Or a new named Repair Droid.

9. Energy-capacity will be increased

- Finely, not 2 minutes with one energy cap!!!!

11. The new loot system concerning blueprint and cryonite

- This is the only thing we don't know. Too bad.

Ahh ok I understnad now lol. so a sub stan is being added. Good thing. Hmm tbh I wouldnt care for any ship past the noob ship to have sub standard auto instal cause all I ever do is sell them cuase ships look better without em

The primary issue with this update is the damage it provides to player interaction. Getting players to help each other for a single BP is almost impossible right now, think of how much help you are going to offer when it takes days instead of hours to build a single BP that you can install. The player interaction of this game has been damaged enough with recent changes. How about we fix whats broken and quit changing what isn't broken?

No, You need 5 bp's but the drop chance goes also up with 5, It stays the same but you get now maybe 4/5 blueprints instead of getting nothing.

at least this way you have partially the BP, but if they increase the drop rate by 5, it still gona take the same time to get the plan at the end. :frown:

I think it will be good for rare BP, dont have to kill mantis for 20 hours and get nothing...in reverse, you cant have the rare BP in 5 min if you were lucky like previously.....all rare BP will take time with this system.

No, it won't take the same time, If the last part what is now the fully bp is stolen, you only have to search for that 1/5 part. Not for the full bp again.

lets put aside the steal part....because if we talk about that....the new system will help us...unless they stole you a lot of BP pieces..lolll

but if your alone..with the drop rate increase to 5 times, with the same luck, it will take the same time to get the 5 BP pieces. but with rare BP at least you can see the progression...and reduce the one time luck drop.

hopefully the BP booster will work better in the new system, because the difference is really small for now...can say almost not worth it.

Still the new system will be better, if normally you would have to shoot an 1H for 1 bp, and 1H it doesn't drop, then you have to wait another hour, (this is actually real in draconis). but in the new, you could get 3/5 in the first our, and 40 minutes later you could have it fully. so 5/5 in 1H 40M.

The new system should make everything more fair, and I believe it will.

Apart from the bp drop i heard that the cryonite drop also gets more fair. But the only problem is that if all mantis drop cryonite you have to collect a lot more, the cryonite slaves will come back, but we will get so much cryonite that we don't care, atleast if SS makes it better for the higher ranks, then the lower ranks also get help because often they can be the cryonite slaves that help us collect cryonite. So it works much better. But we also need more grainding planets.

I realy see nothing wrong with the system we already have, all SS should do is up the Cry drop rate and the amount we get. As for the bp's, just do the same and up the drop rate.

Problem solved.
Now who has my paycheck? :D

Well, i think that 1 bp in 3H or 1H in draconis is wrong, and if it gets stolen too, then I like the new system a lot more.

pbhuh, dont get me wrong....i dont complain about the new system coming at all...i'm just saying if the drop rate increase by 5...and you need 5 BP pieces, with the same luck...it will take the same time...but we all know we can not have the same luck..lolll..but with that system you cant have it in 2min...like it is if your lucky

but with the rare BP..i really think it will help a lot...it took me 20 hours to get the BDD, really frustrating to be on assassin for that long with an engi ship...lollll

and yes...we will have to collect much more cryo...i hope they are not gonna drop the amount of each cryo too much though.

I agree with what your saying, but why make a new sys to get bp's and Cry?
Like i put before, just up the cry and bp rate and the amount we get in Cry

When i first started playing this game, the amount was almost double that what we get now in Cry

I agree with what your saying, but why make a new sys to get bp's and Cry?
Like i put before, just up the cry and bp rate and the amount we get in Cry

When i first started playing this game, the amount was almost double that what we get now in Cry
I agree it was a lot hgher before... the drop rates that is, hmm yeah I think just a slightly higher droprate will do but I also wanna see if their new loot system will improve things a bit.

yea and they need to get the new system up on the ptr so everyone can give an honest opinion on it and maybe some improvements
