First off, I would like to tell you I was in a similar situation.
By using two people, you cut your time down to finish the task. The best way to finish this is to split into two teams, one taking the top half, and the other taking the bottom half. If you have any Green(Beryl) or Yellow(Citrine) gravitons , it would be helpful.
The way I did it, and succeeded, was to press my afterburner close enough to the turret, but before the enemy sees you, and then stop directly or as close as you can to the turret for about 1 second, and then to continue in the direction toward the next turret. Using your Aim scrambler will help minimize the damage. Try to find a safe spot and allow your afterburner to recharge, and continue the same. If you get about 1/2 damage, use your shield. When your shield drops, use your repair droid and when you find a safe spot allow this to recharge.
Use your yellow graviton(Citrine) only in situations where you are stunned. I only use the green one if almost all hope is lost in a last ditch effort to get to a safe spot if my afterburner is just about ready to use again.
When this is all said and done, and all bombs are planted(It will tell you, and you can also check the map, hover the red dots and it should read "A.M. Bomb" and not "Unknown") you should go to orbit, land, and then press the TAB button repeatedly(but slowly enough to catch it) until you see on the bottom left of your HUD the device called "A.M." Bomb(not Unknown). Press the E button, and then again each time you see this. should blow up. Keep repeatedly with the TAB and then E when you see A.M. Bomb, you should blow up all 16 in the LZ away from Mantis, and hopefully with time to spare.
Your other option is to find a pilot with a good engineer willing to help you in this mission.
Good luck brave pilot.
