As with all online games you have to type anything you want to say.
If you are in a battle then you can't type and shoot.

Some people have gone for a 3ed party program so the can chat on VOIP ( voice over ip )
so would it be a good idear if PG had one of its own ?

There are some programs that are free and some you have to pay for but some are better than others
as all ways.
I have used Teamspeak before and it helps alot.

As long as you have a mic and speakers then you can use it you can still use it with out a mic you just can't talk but you can hear everyone els.
You have to set it up and log in, after set up it just a case of clicking a button or 2 then you good to go.

Ooooohhh imagine the cacophony of the chat!!!! I would rather have some way to program words and phrases so that they can be put into the chat by just pressing one button like an F-key. Thus if you are under heavy fire and you need help, you can have the phrase "Help - under heavy fire!!" set so that your squad or clan or whomever will see it on screen by just pressing F3 or something like that. I remember that Doom 3 deathmatch had some preset macros like this for team play.
