in praise of splitscreen

Since there isn't a thread for this, allow me to start one. (I know I've been very critical of them in the past, so it's nice to praise them for a change.) This is for general praises that might not rate a thread of their own, so please feel free guys.

My praise is for the new graphics, when leaving orbit. Before, we zoomed back towards the planet to land. Now, it's a more relaxed, controlled descent to the planet, and much better in my humble opinion. Nice one, guys !!

Everything seems to have geared down a bit. The Mantis, the progress, the cry drops, the ships that fly around when youre in hangar, oh and yes, the landing animation!

I am dreaming back towards beta time... when rocket launchers really looked like rocket launchers...
