How is this to be understood? Will the Taunt be revised? What changes have been made to the Taunt?

There is since today currently a >>>PTR Test<<< with a lot of item changes due of massive overhaul and taunt will receive a change as well with it >>>PTR 1003900 Changelog<<<

Taunt Changes

• New Effects:
  • Added repair effectiveness reduction by 25% for all repairs towards the taunted target.
  • A taunted target will receive 15% more damage.
• Increased cooldown time to 88 seconds (standard).
• Reduced active time to 25 seconds (standard).
• Increased generated aggro to allow tanks to attract their target better

Taunt will be Taunt and until a certain point of the game it will be an "tank exclusive" item.

So it gives no real difference of how the Taunt works be it in a tank "classed" ship (From Vega to Draconis) or be in a so called Hybrid ship like the Bullfrog from Tau Ceti.

Aside from that and if we exclude the PTR version for now the actuall effect of the Taunt is that the target that is affected by the Taunt directs the aggro to the player who used it against the target what "kinda works" but can easily be overriden by either the Damage Dealer ships or ships with supportive items like Repair Target; Repair Field; Repair Turret or giving a Protector.
