the reptarget is mainly used to be supportive role leaving the engi with blasters and protector if its attacked its dead pretty much.

so why not make the Rep target supportive and to be used as a weapon so you target a mantis or player and drain there hp to your hp of course a sensible rate would have to be applied but i think this would make PVP alot more interesting ^^

Idea got suggested and discarded in the past, Engi isn't meant to be a fighting ship it is made for support.

ive heard about the engi being able to do damage via the rep target but never "health leach"

Trust me, When Sol had just come out there was alot of people who suggested for Health Stealing on Rep Target/Field and I think someone once suggested an Anti-Materialize where it sends the Pod to the Hangar instead of Matting it.
