I have noticed during the past several days that the death squads, at least on earth have been acting quite differently and I am curious as to the reason for the changes. I have check the updates as well as the forum and no reason has been specified.
1. The resurrector now returns to orbit after a short period, consistently whereas in the past, it would remain on the surface and continue to respawn the other ships until it was destroyed.
2. After a short period, a second squad, absent the commander would land and increase the number of d/s members.
With the Harv locations pretty much unavailable to most players not wanting a conflict, I have found that shooting the d/s to be an adequate alternative. Now I feel it may become a waste of time.
Unless the second wave drops, there is no longer additional cryonite dropped. With more and more players reaching the highest level of the game (85), I see players encroaching into the limited Harv locations as was the situation in the past, just to pay for equipment. Others will occupy the harv locations just from a lack of anything better to do. The fact that several of the top players are not completing their white missions and moving swiftly to Sirius is a good indicator of problems yet to come.
I have always found that killing the d/s with other surrounding mantis delivered a greater amount of cryo over time than shooting harvs. I have also heard that "no one owns a harv spot." Well. I have seen 15-20 mantis swarming around a commander and have yet to have another player attempt to steal my position and survive. It should really be returned to the way it has always been!
