Remember when the new CQ system was introduced and we were able to land on the CQ ships at will? Well I want to kind of bring that idea back and maybe some structure to CQ.
My idea is to introduce Armadas into the game, which will be somewhere in between a squad and a full sized clan of 60 players.
Their basic concept is almost the same as a squad but allows the extra flexibility & cohesion I think the CQs need.
The clan captain or the clan admiral will be able to form an armada.
Only those within your alliance will be able to join your armada.
Upto 5 squads can be in an armada at once. So a maximum of 25 players.
Just like in a normal squad, Squad members will be able to land directly on their squad leader,
however squad leaders will be given the option to land on the Armada leader.
How you'd form an armada:
The clan Admiral or Captain will make a squad (they can appoint who ever they wish to lead the armada from the clan or alliance, for instance, like who ever is leading the CQ for their side.).
They will then have a button in their squad panel which would give them the option of forming an armada.
Once they have made the armada other squad leaders will be able to join (only squad leaders will be able to see the armada, regular squad members will not).
People from within your alliance can continue to join the individual squadrons until they are all full (of course).
The main benefit of the armada would be the ability for squad leaders to land directly on whoever is leading the armada, and squad members will still be able to land on their squad leaders, so squads can cooperate with eachother more corehantly but at the same time they'll have enough flexibility to remain independant squadrons.
You'll be able to use these armadas outside of CQ as well.
Anyone within your squad will be able to see and pick up what you drop from an enemy as if they were in your squad.
Cryonite dropped will still only be shared within the individual squad of who ever picks it up.
