computer shuts down during gameplay?

i have played pg for some time now and i have started to get computer shutting down on me automatically it only happens on pg and i looked it up and the internet tells me my cpu is overheating , is there any advice u can give me or shead some further light on my problem ps i cant regain the cry i loose as fast as im loosing it , so plz help .

you need to re paste your processor and heatsink with thermel compound and make sure the heatsink is dust free as well and the inside of your pc is cleaned out and dust free. in the bios on your pc there is a thermel cut off which protects your computer from damage when it gets too hot

But you should know that you do not want to turn thermal protection off for any reason.

On a more practical note before you rip your pc apart, make sure your pc is well ventillated and pulling in cool or cold air, IE not stuffed in an enclosed space where air has poor or no circulation allowing heat to build up which will quite easily shut your pc down, Oh, and just have a look to see if the fans are working.

My mom tried to do that once and... ya... computer has a safeguard that makes it so computer dosen't run if you try to disable that. It is physically impossible (atleast on HP laptops running windows7)

if you use a laptop i would buy an external cooling fan if u want i could pm u a good address 2 buy 1
