So I finally reached Level 10, Still earning cryonites though since I keep dying due to awful lag I'm suffering currently...

Which of the Ships is best for Solo Play and minor Support Roles?

The Engineer Ship is at best the "Medic" I presume and they are armed with more Repair Drones?

The Warhawk is armed with decent armor and more firepower correct?

Whereas the Space Tank would be the opposite of the Warhawk, having decent firepower in exchange for more Defense and Durability?

I just bought a Space Tank, and apparently you can't switch over equipment to a new ship... Nuuuuuuuu!!!?!

Thats just evil man... you can't even move over your equipment. I'm almost tempted to quit now due to this stupid concept of not being able to switch over equipment. I mean... an Old Space Flight Game could do it... why not a new one can't?

You can switch weapons.

However, there are cables to be rerun, and so on. The cost for this is half the price of the weapon.
It is done by selling your weapon and buy a new one on your ship. Simple.

Yeah after getting the anger to cool down I just went... oh well, screw it... :sneaky: ...I just saw a Slot labeled for "Taunts" in my Space Tank. will I find the basic blueprints for that equipment once I clear off the Vega System?

Taunts drop from avengers, and the better ones from sentinel commanders, i think. But they're almost worthless. Good for boss missions when you tank the boss.

So what is the difference of the different Ships anyway?

Warhawk has an extra Attack

Space Tank can as you said... Taunt into them being attacked instead.

Engineer can.. uhh have their repair drones also affect fellow Squad Mates?

And the Stunner can well... stun enemies?

The Next Tier of Ships come at Rank 20+ right? and I can collect the blueprints nevertheless of my Ship Type right?

Tank: 22 hitpoints (may vary trough systems)

Has Shield (defensive) and taunt ( practically worthless)
I haven't tried it but heard that it is good.

Shock: 18 hitpoints
Has Stuncharge (offensive, stuns enemy) and speed actuator (makes you or friend quicker item speed)
Not good to have in vega and antares, but from gemini and on... good in pvp too.

Storm: 14 hitpoints
Rockets: Slower than blaster, but higher range and more damage. (offensive) Aim computer: Less misses and more criticals! (use on yourself)
Ok for everything, a little hard to survive in it, though.

Engineer: 12 Hitpoints
Repair target: Repairs a friend
Protector: Liek a shield, but you cna use it on others if you want and it's stun proof, if it's better than the stuncharge
Easy to die in this, not good alone!

Next rank requirement for ships is 18, btw

(i edited in some new stuff here below)
New abilities in antares:

Perforator (storm) Perforates trough a shield, if the perf is weaker than the shield, it will partly damage shield and hull.

Repair field (engineer) Like what the menders use

Aim Scrambler (tank) Makes shots miss!

Aggrobeacon (shock) If used correctly, it's a lifesaver, if used wrong, it's as useless as a taunt. It seploys a little thingy that makes amntis shoot it.

New abilities in Gemini;

Thermoblast: (storm) Beams focused fusion energy towards your enemy, making it take damage over time. A terribly powerful weapon.

Materializer: (engineer) you know that text when your dead that says rescue now or be materialized? Well the materializer materises. It ressurects you.

Stundome: (shock) Area of effect stuncharge.

Aggrobomb (tank) Area of effect weapon, but with little damage.

No new abilities in Mizar

New ship and abilities in Sol:

Sniper ship (rare) ?? hitpoints

Sniper blaster: Slower than normal, but with higher range. Never misses.

Orbital strike. Extremely Powerful Aoe weapon.

Attack droid: Sends down a small ship armed with a rank 50 blaster.
Note: doesn't dissapear when you leave to orbit. They have been seen hunting alone on vega 4

Attack Charge: Increases your damage.

I noticed you don't really need afterburners that much, and often when you DO need them its just enough to let you escape basic mobs. So I stuck with the sub-standard. The Shields and Aim Scramblers are a must though right?

Shields are ok, nothing special. Aim scramblers are good. You do need afterburners in PVP, and from mantis that afterburn like the interceptors and pyro in later systems.

taunt has many uses in different situations..

1. u can taunt mantis 1 by 1 outside of the swerm they're in if the mantis is hard/barely to handle for u in order to get bp that you are looking for.
2. as your tank can handle more damage taunt can save friends//squad/clanmembers/mission ships when they being attacked and nearly dead.
3. the other day i taunted harv the same time somebody 1 shotted it and i saw the drop too.. taubt is great for cry/bp/golden bp thieves.lol. not that i am one.. im just saying.

OK lets give the engineer some love.

Yes it has a paper thin hull.
Yes it has no offensive capabilities beyond its blaster
Yes they are next to useless in one to one pvp

But,
if you have learnt how to fight whilst keeping your distance from a mantis so they are only just in range then they wont shoot you, as mantis seem to have a shorter blaster range,

and
the protector is a seriously effective shield against stun and damage,

and
in squad pvp they make a huge difference to the squad's survivability.

Your squadmates and buddies will love your repair target and repair field and just think of the kudos you get when you wade into the jaws of death to materialise that parsec pilot from his lonely pod sat atop a huge pile of pink cryonite he just dropped. When you need help with Fighting a Colossus that parsec pilot will remember you (and if he doesn't then make sure everyone knows it)

I fly engineers because they are a challenge and rewarding in their own right.

I would also like to add about engineers that there is nothing like the feeling of helping someone complete a hard mission solo while you heal him from outside the mission. the other day three of my clan mates got podded and my engineer was working overtime to mat them. when the ds jumped me all four ships not counting mine jumped them. so engineers have their use just like all the ships. :D

one more to add to that in pvp an enemy was shoting a buddy I taunted the enemy then he started shoting me. Note this was on the ptr server and it was the sol taunt.

But it apears it works on people to to target you but up to then tochange target or keep on you.
