ok, i touched on this briefly in my rant about people interfering with 1v1's, but i think its a good idea.
I was thinking of having another pirate mode skull, that turns your name blue instead of red. When activated, this skull would allow players in this version of pirate mode (possibly called "challenge mode") to click on your profile, and there would be an option saying "challenge player" When clicked, a message would come up on the other players screen saying something like "[player name] has challenged you. do you accept the challenge?" with a yes or no option.
If the player accepts, a countdown will begin on screen, and neither player can attack until it hits 0. This would ensure that it is completely fair. Then the two players fight untill someone is podded, and then the victor is announced and the challenge is over.
If you decided to try and exploit the system by spamming challenges to fill someones screen with them, this will not be possible. If a player is already in a challenge, they cannot be sent challenge requests.
players could block people from sending the challenges so they dont get spammed, and if there are players in a squad, a squad leader could challenge another squad to a "squad challenge" so up to 5 people can fight in a challenge per side.
I thought of this because it would ensure that 1v1s, 2v2s, etc would be fair and noone could surprise anyone in challenge mode. normal pm could be used when fighting clan wars and conquests, and if you feel like ganging someone. But if players just want fair fights (which many of them do) this would be an ideal system.
What do you guys think?
(it would be nice if i could have a response from a gm or dev who could point out the flaws in the system.) :mrorange:
