All,

Anybody that has better or information that is more accurate, please feel free to make correction. Developer feedback would be really appreciated for any corrections or clarification so that "all" players can compete equally.

We have seen many players ask other players as well as on-line GMs "what is bounty?" "is it worth anything to your pilot?" the most common answers have been that "its just a number you gather for glory and fame", "it has no value", and "it does not count towards anything".

Ever wonder why some pilots are intent on getting their "bounty" back if you pod them? Ever wonder why a level 75 player goes to vega to get a ship/player with sub standard equipment to pod them? Ever been at the top of your ladder bracket and lost your advancement to the next bracket when your War score was higher than the next player or players in you bracket before reset? has your clan ever been at the top of the clan bracket, yet failed to advance because another clan below you in the same bracket advanced?

BOUNTY!!

Yes, testing has indicated that that both your clan and pilot status are impacted by BOUNTY.

Test:
Two players, same bracket, 1.5 K difference in war score at reset. The only difference, one player with bounty one without. The player in second place with 1.5K bounty moves to the next bracket or snatches the golden skull instead of you. How much the Bounty impacts the final calculation is unknown, but what is know is that 8K bounty will more than cover 1.5 deficit of war score.

Two clans, same bracket, @ 1K war score difference, If the lower clan has more war score than the top clan in the bracket, then the lower clan will progress to the next bracket or take the Golden Skull.

BOUNTY Banking!!

What is it? How is it defined? what warrants a warning for "Bounty Banking"?

This question has also been asked by players towards other players, and has also been asked of the GM/CM team. Players have no idea what bounty banking is and the GM/CM team when asked provide no clarification which would help all players avoid being falsely accused of "Bounty Banking" and receive warnings, mutes and jails.

By definition Bounty "Banking" indicates placing bounty in a place (with another player account, either in clan or out of clan) to be gathered at a time in the future to help your player or clan progress through the ladder ranking system and overall game status?

Any clarification on the following questions and points would be greatly appreciated by those that have any facts.

1. What is SplitScreens definition of bounty banking?
2. If a player asks another player to take them out of PM/Red, will this be deemed as Bounty banking?
3. If a player leaves his clan to take another clan member out of red, is this bounty banking?
4. If a player goes to the lower systems (vega, etc) and has a noob player (in clan or out of clan) take them out of red and they never go back to pod that noob account to gather any Bounty that may have been exchanged when taken out of red, is that Bounty banking?
5. What is deemed as suspicious activity from a noob account when an upper level player being taken out of red.
6. Is suspicious activity reason enough to ban accounts?
7. If a player wants out of PM and also wants to dissolve any bounty so that it cant be used by that player or anybody else, Is that bounty banking?

As other players are figuring out what is going on with bounty by watching other players use these tactics of Bounty Banking (if that's indeed what it is), the players that have been using this information for their personal and clan benefit are now complaining about players that have caught on to what Bounty is all about.

Again, any feedback from the Development team would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,
Quarter

bounty doesn't count for anything anymore, a few updates ago they made it a usless number. a guy named manic joker had 80k bounty but the timer ran out and he was like one guy away from advancing, and if the bounty was counted he would have but he didnt. its just a number. peopel want their bounty back because they want to be the best, some sort of sick scene of superiority

thanks for the feedback,

The testing we completed has been in the past 3 weeks, so it appears that there is still some component of Bounty that is still being calculated.

Also note, warnings and other actions have been taken for Bounty banking recently, If there is no gain in bounty then there could be no supposed exploit.

Developer feedback would still be greatly appreciated to clear any misconceptions.

Thanks.

Nice post Quarter...for those of us who don't chase bounty, this would go a long way to explaining why some individuals do chase those numbers. And as you say " Developer feedback would still be greatly appreciated to clear any misconceptions."

That was me who had the 82 K bounty and I can confirm that it made no difference at all to my Warscore at the end of the week. I knew this to be the case as I had already tested it a few weeks earlier when the Bounty thing was introduced. :D
