just thought since they have the small +% amount for inviting friends to the game why not also have option to skill ur acc with those 3 atributes:
example :
u add +1% defense(hp) or attack(damage) or agility (speed) per each completed star system
for all i care can even use the useless logfiles or acievement points or xp.
i just think it would add an extra dimension to pg if ya can try specialise ur skill and ur ships to complement themselves.
if they wanna cash in they can offer reskilling for gold.
as for balancing arguments i doubt it would b afected by the little % boost if ya consider tht u can buy large boosts for gold and/or use drones and those seem to not disturb the balance also u can easily integrate these % to turn off at pvp as "supposedly" the boosters do
maybe not a revolutionary idea saw some bits all over the forums and kinda pieced them together and added some... effect of boredom i guess...

to further my idea u could (and should) get the combat related 1% upgrade att/def/speed +also get 1% in non combat boosts like cryo/bp drop and xp in adition
