An idea to cut lag!

obviously everyone is suffering with lagg and i happen to be one of those people, an idea i have had is gettin rid of the 'space dust' or whatever it is. The white particles that fly about on your screen while flying around, it doesnt seam to serve any purpose to my knowledge, even if it is removed for just medium and/or lowest quality, mite reduce lag for most people. anyone else have an opinion on this please let me know.

Well it may remove a bit of lag, but it wont be substancial will it. The space dust doesnt do much like you said but it gives it more of a wrecked planet atmosphere

i dont know how much it will cure it but even if its just on lowest quality it will help some player

i think the lag is being caused by this new program ss have made to find cheats i think its gettin in the way of data like a firewall and making this lag that everyone is gettin and the lag is really bad for 90% of us on the english server

Doing this will only affect local lag. The fact that the server is lagging as if it were choking in its own amount of players still stands.

Think I suggested this on the old forum, and was told it wouldn't make much difference. It's due to the number of players online at the time, apparently.

I must admit this is one of the best graphic games I have seen, so I would hate to loose that, I play this game on two computers, a desktop which is set up for ghaphics not for gaming and the lag is awful. I then have a 64bit gaming laptop and the lag is normally ok on that and the graphics is out of this world. Saturn is outstanding. But the last couple of days the lag is rediculous and has made the game unplayable even on the laptop.

Normally I get a red or yellow marker on top the screen saying bad connection but yesterday I flew across Baumar 3 times and kept returning to the same position, for me I spend a lot of money on this game, maybe not as much as others and I would rather you got this sorted first above all else.

Keep this game going it is outstanding.

from what i noticed they already trimmed down the graphics on explosions but maybe im just tripping


how about different servers for different systems?
as there is a loading when changing systems thru stargate u could aswell redirect to another server.

I got that feeling that the lag always starts at 17:00 Belgium time start .
So who is the dude starting log in at 16:59 lol
