I'm fairly certain this is in the rants section for a reason, which is why I didn't respond earlier (because I doubt he wants alternative solutions), but in regard to orbiting, no. Log off. Each has their down fall, logging off means you don't get chat or things you probably want while you're afk, orbiting means you have to travel again. An anchor option would be nice, as had been suggested before.

Simples response is what was said, log off when you go afk.
I doubt there is anything what you will loose whats of such importance that you can't do that.
Oh yes, if you are in a grinding squad, you probably will not get your share, but wait, why have a share while doing nothing for it?

it could be fun to make a ship that CAN go backwards, this is ofcourse only possible by turning the engines.

The ships in PG doesn't use the same method of flight as airplanes, since almost every ship doesn't have wings, so i guess osme sort of forcefield/antigravity

the ships in this game use thrust engines, and in real life if u turn off the trust u can stop the vehicle so why not do that on the game? logging off would be a good idea but not any more since there's a 10 sec wait to log off, and maybe u have an emergency or something and u don't have time for that (it already happened to me).

lol keep in mind the ship is not rolling on the surface but it's hovering, and if you turn off the engines the ship will crash on the surface :/ have you ever seen a jumbo jet turning off the thrust and not going down? ^^

A jumbo jet uses it's wings to fly, a spaceship uses it's hover engines.

THE BIG BLUE ENGINE THINGY IS THE THRUSTER, NOT THE HOVER ENGINE!!

...

So if you turn the truster but not the hover engine of, you will stay still and hover.

If you can hover stationary for long enough to pick up a rare BP with a sub-standard collecter, why can't you do it whenever you want?

Imagine if you could only use the handbrake while in a parking space...

Better idea.. why not be able to target yourself? you will stay still then, like if you target someone else you go around in a circle.. so make it when you target yourself your ship just spins,

If you have a sniper you target your attack droid then if it goes away you still stand still duno if this is a bug that is fixed but my buddy did that some time ago
