OK, OK we had cases where GMs made there own rule to jail people or warn them, reason: podding lower system player, I think it's the most stupid thing I did hear, That is my opinion.

Some few people already made threads, look at these,

by Rademenes http://forum.pirategalaxy.com/viewtopic.php?f=253&t=17314
and at last a idea written by Starchaser http://forum.pirategalaxy.com/viewtopic.php?f=314&t=17319

I would say to remake the bounty little more and make something called honor points, these points could you get by doing SM, Helping players etc.

I suggest the honor list to be useful and not something bounty or so, it shall be shown like as the ladder list, but be more useful; as 10.000 honor points gives you 5% cryonite bonus, firepower bonus, absorb bonus, speed bonus, exp bonus, 10% less cryonite drop, Something around that.

And you could lose 5% honor points for each low level player you pod with high level ships, but you shall not lose any of these honor points if you don't shoot first, but the low level player.

When you got over 20k bounty on your head , pilots might hunt you down and get a little bonus as much as 2k cryonite.

This makes more sense then jailing someone, something some staff members didn't think total of, I take this jail this very serious, this is the worst thing I ever did hear, jailing people to pod lower system player, did they ever think that low ranked player can shoot first?!?!?!

I can sorrrrt of agree with the idea exept for the bonus' in cryonite. Yet again I have issue with the players ranks being used as the restrictor in this case. You're better off using ship class and tech. Can't anyone else see the problem in using players rank as the restricter here?

Also instead of using honour points as you suggest why not just keep the bounty system as is except for a change in that we can get Dread point (Evil) and honour point (not evil... kinda) You ONLY earn either of these from being red, nothing outside pvp and combat with players will affect this, so if you're not red you'll never get either of these.

You get honour points for podding players in the same system tech as you (regardless of whether there's a small difference in power) and of course that same ship class. so Sol vs Sol with anything from Mars to Earth tech including rares. You'll get 1 honour point for each player you pod in this manner.

IF though in the same sol ship you move down to say mizar and then pod someone in a mizar ship with mizar tech you'll get dread points marking you as a villain, forever regardless of reasons for doing it. You'll get 1 dread point every time you pod a player using this effective but cowardly method.

Each point will represent each time you've podded someone, no more and no less, it's basically a count of how many times you've done it. Also, you won't ever lose these point even after podding no matter what, they always there. Pod one midget ship with a big gun and that point will haunt you to your grave. It'll work the same way for both Honour and Dread points.

I'm a lvl 35 i got a MST-FF4 and i have a problem, that started in Antares, of being podded by Ships of a higher system, so i think more of a Cryonite penalty, or fine, is given to the player who has killed a lower system ship and there name changing colour ^^

Anyone outside of Vega will know the risk of being in pirate mode quite well and although I don't go around podding players in lower class ships myself I also understand that not everyone has the same ethical values I do... If you're gunna turn piratemode on then it's done at your own risk, you don't have to right to complain about being podded after turning it on. I won't respect anyone that does it of coutrse, but yeah, not everyone think the same and I think people just have to realize that and use their OWN common sense.

No, I disaggre, people should not be punished for noob podding (sometimes it is their own fault for flying around with no tech installed :p). Punishment will just make matters worse and most clans already hate noob podding. Every time you turn pirate mode on, you accept that you can be killed by anyone at anytime and you can kill anyone else that is red. I have been noob podded a few times before and I did not cry and whine all over the forums or in-game chat about it, even when I got podded during a story mission. This whining is just getting worse and worse and not only there are low level players are complaning about being podded. A few days ago a high level played was whining about being podded and an argument broke out. This is crazy, just grow up and accept that you got podded and never go red again unless you are ready. They should put in a message that asks if you want to turn pirate mode on so people can stop going red on accident and that tells you the risks of being in pm.

About above post:

When you klick skull, it opens message where it asks do you want to turn PM on. It has always asked that for me (tested 10+ times) so that cant be the reason unless options have somekind pop-up blocker, dont know about that.

About noob podding: Red = Dead
PM = Pod Me
You turn PM on = Your own responsibility, your fault. Blaim yourself, but ethics still should be considered when Drac VS Vega battle unless Drac ship announces in public chat that he is hunting for low-ranked red people (pod, hide or run away ASAP).

Everytime I click on the skull it turns red instantly without any warning, the only time i remember being warned is when I went into pirate mode for the first time in the game.

Well put. Also I have noticed some lower rank players have a bounty. if you are red and have gained some bounty it shows that you have willingly engaged pirate mode to actively take part in PVP. If you live by the sword... And Rogue Demon....if you fly round in red saying "pod me and I will make your gaming life hell" (especially when you don't have the hangar to back it up) is asking for trouble

I couldn't agree more, I have always told it is on your own risk you turn PM on, if you cannot handle it, then keep out from clicking that scull.

This is indeed a pirate game, and likewise as in any other game that has pvp mode or an area where u can risk to get in pvp, you are the one going in it, no one is forcing you to use it, or to enter in it.

I can somewhat understand how annoying it might be to have turned it on maybe by mistake or in lack of knowledge what it really is, but that is on Vega system, and with new players.
When you unlock Antares system, you will probably have enough info by then what is PM and what effect it has.

Now players whining in higher systems that Vega/Antares I cannot understand.
Just clear and simples,
Do NOT turn on PM if you are not ready to suffer from the consequences of it.

This I quoted was quite well said by DivineWind.
Also I have noticed some lower rank players have a bounty. if you are red and have gained some bounty it shows that you have willingly engaged pirate mode to actively take part in PVP. If you live by the sword...
I'll add, ....You can die by the sword, or you can have a victory.
It is all up to you and your own acts what you do and what you don't,
and it is up to you if you want to risk it to be a pod when you go red.

Agreed.
Just a side note on the technical aspects of PM warning message as ppl seem to disagree on a clear pattern:

If in the CURRENT WEEK you...

... turn on PM for the 1st time, you will get a pop-up (explaining you won't gain anything from going red) and have a "pre-bounty" on your head (10 times your player rank) if you still decide to go red

... turn on any time thereafter you won't get any pop-up but are red straight away and have no bounty on your head (since you were podded before)

The next week everyting is reset again and above pattern repeats.
Best wishes

lol in PG Bounty means nothing, all ppl do is get Bounty think there all great at PvPing and all there doing is getting a Draco and going to Vega-Mizar cause they don't like fair fights
