If I am doing a story mission where the NPC doesn't tell me exactly where to go look an item, etc. but tells me that I have to search within a huge target on the map or search the whole planet, can i post screenshots of the locations of those items, etc.?

You are referring most likely to Baumar storymission "Possible Weakness".
In that mission you really need to look around whole planet.
Anyway, there is 1 only mineral per enemy lvl zone. So first look area where is r35 enemys, then r36 enemys and so on. When there is r39 parasites in place where there usually isnt, mineral is near.

That did not answer my question lol... I know how to beat it now but several people are having trouble with that mission. When I was doing it I could not find the last mineral (some of my friends had this problem) and I kept on looking for it for hours. I had looked around the whole planet probably three or more times when I gave up. I restarted the mission and found every mineral. Some people are not as patient as me so when they do a mission like Possible Weakness where they have no direction they can become enraged and even quit because of something like this.
