I have read a lot about the engineers and have come to the understanding that most pilots don't care much for them until they need one. It would be nice to see some reward for Engi's doing their job. Rewards could consist of cryo or XP when someone calls cries from the other side of the map for an Engi. Why should I reisk my ship to help someone I don't even know only to use my own XP when I get there often for not even a thank you.

Change XP for energy. Please excuse the other spelling errors. I am a pilot, not a secretary!

I believe this has been suggested before... O_O
If only I could remember the thread...

I believe that engi's were fed up with the rudeness of some players. ^^
My take on it was that I felt Engi's should be given the option of charging cryo or not.
I mean, you're obviously not going to shake down a friend you've known since vega! xD

I don't think an engineer should be able to charge for his services but I do think getting XP for mat'ing would be a great idea.

You should only get XP for mat'ing someone that has been podded by a Mantis. You wouldn't gain any XP from a pilot podded in pvp. Maybe the flashing beacon on the top of the pod could flash a different colour to signify if you can get XP or not. Green for XP, Red for none.

I don't think you should get XP for using the 'repair target' or 'repair field' as this would just lead to everyone buying an engineer and 'repair spamming' everyone in sight in the hope they need health.

But there is a definate risk involved in mat'ing a downed pilot, which deserves some XP.

You hang there for ages while you bring them back from the pod, knowing that if you move and loose your lock you have just wasted your time and valued 'E' for nothing, all the while being shot at for your trouble.

Or at least let the engineer pick up the other 50% of the cry that the podded pilot looses. Give us something back for our trouble!

That's a good idea, but would anyone cry for an Engineer? I think the Engineer should get 50% of the lost cry automatically, but the pilot can still get this 50% cry, too. So everybody would cry for an Engineer, they would get cry for rescuing a pilot, and the pilot doesn't lose any cry.
